A Christmas Emergency!

Another old one. From Dec 23rd 2023.

Kiefer was having problems with a controller he was going to gift his old switch with. The left shoulder button (L bumper) wasn't pressing.

The reason?

Well, that button won't be doing much like that!

This is an easy fix on the left joycon. It's a small replaceable part. But the R button on the right joycon? Let's put it this way. That one is a controller ruiner. It needs micro solder repair that isn't worth it.

In this case though, Kiefer went away with a working joycon.

an old one. Randy had a blue joycon with a busted rail.

This one is from January 6th of this year (2024). Very similar to my other post. Whole joycon rail had popped out after a fall.

Normally this is an easy fix... But in this case... It needed a whole new rail. I keep those spare!

As you see above. The switch isn't seeing the left joycon as being connected.

So I popped this in...

After all that. Everything worked nicely.

I guess I need to start documenting my fixes!

Today I had a visit from Kris!

He had a pretty busted up white right joycon, but within 25 minutes everything was looking and playing great again.

With the help of my UV resin, I set back the screw post. Got everything back in place. Buttoned it up and he left a happy guy.

I've done a few white joycons now like this. Never think it's beyond repair!!
